এগুলো সবসময় মূল Verb এর আগে বসে সম্ভাবনা, সক্ষমতা, অনুমতি বা বাধ্যবাধকতা প্রকাশ করে।
Modal/ Secondary Auxiliar: Can, could, may, might, shall, should, will, would, must, ought to, used to, need, dare.
মূল বৈশিষ্ট্যসমূহ:
এরা সবসময় মূল Verb এর (Principal Verb) আগে বসে।
Modal Auxiliaries-এর পর সবসময় Verb এর Base Form (Present form) বসে।
এদের নেগেটিভ করার জন্য এদের ঠিক পরেই 'not' বসানো হয় (যেমন: Cannot, is not)।
প্রশ্নবোধক বাক্য তৈরির জন্য এদেরকে সাবজেক্টের আগে নিয়ে আসা হয়।
