Compound Preposition :
Noun, Adjective Adverb-এর পূর্বে simple Preposition যুক্ত হয়ে যে Preposition গঠিত হয়, তাকে Compound Preposition বলে।
যেমনঃ about (on + by + out), behind (by + hind)
Compound Preposition হলো সেইসব প্রিপজিশন যা সাধারণত কোনো Noun, Adjective বা Adverb-এর আগে একটি Simple Preposition (সাধারণত 'a' বা 'be') যুক্ত করে গঠিত হয়।
এখানে একটি মজার বিষয় হলো:
'a' যুক্ত হয় 'on'-এর পরিবর্তে।
'be' যুক্ত হয় 'by'-এর পরিবর্তে।

Above (on + be + up)
Across (on + cross)
Along (on + long)
Behind (by + hind)

২. বাক্যে ব্যবহারের ব্যাখ্যা ও উদাহরণ:
Across (একপাশ থেকে অন্যপাশে):
Example: He ran across the road. (সে রাস্তার একপাশ থেকে অন্যপাশে দৌড়ে গেল।)
Along (বরাবর):
Example: We walked along the river bank. (আমরা নদীর পাড় বরাবর হাঁটলাম।)
Behind (পিছনে):
Example: The sun disappeared behind the clouds. (সূর্য মেঘের আড়ালে/পিছনে ঢাকা পড়ল।)
Beside (পাশে):
Example: Come and sit beside me. (এসো এবং আমার পাশে বসো।)
Between (দুইয়ের মধ্যে):
Example: The match is between Bangladesh and India. (ম্যাচটি বাংলাদেশ ও ভারতের মধ্যে।)
Beyond (সাধ্যের বাইরে/দূরে):
Example: The beauty of the place is beyond description. (স্থানটির সৌন্দর্য বর্ণনাতীত।)

Compound Preposition শেখার সময় এই দুটি শব্দের পার্থক্য জানা খুব জরুরি:
Beside: পাশে (By the side of)।
Example: There is a tree beside our house.
Besides: এ ছাড়াও (In addition to)।
Example: Besides this pen, I have two more.
